Daily Maintenance and Fault Prevention Tips for Agricultural Machinery
As core equipment for agricultural production, agricultural machinery operates long-term in complex field environments characterized by heavy dust and high working loads, which easily leads to component wear, blockage, oil leakage and circuit failures. Proper daily maintenance and proactive fault prevention can effectively reduce equipment failure rates, extend service life, ensure efficient and stable operation during busy farming seasons, and avoid delays in cultivation and harvesting caused by equipment shutdown. It is an essential part of standardized agricultural machinery operation.
Daily cleaning and inspection constitute the foundation of routine maintenance. After each operation, dirt, straw, weeds, dust and other attachments on the machine body shall be thoroughly cleaned, especially on easily blocked parts such as radiators, filter screens, blades and feed inlets, to prevent accumulated sundries from affecting heat dissipation and working performance. It is also necessary to fully check the tightness and integrity of screws, connectors, transmission chains and belts, fasten loose accessories and replace worn parts in a timely manner to prevent minor hidden dangers from evolving into major faults.

Standardized lubrication and fluid maintenance reduce mechanical wear. In accordance with specified maintenance cycles, apply qualified lubricating oil and grease to bearings, chains, gears and other transmission components to avoid abrasion and jamming caused by dry friction. Regularly inspect the level and quality of engine oil, hydraulic oil, coolant and fuel, replenish or replace deteriorated fluids in time, and prohibit the use of inferior oil products, so as to prevent common failures such as stalling, insufficient power and overheating damage of engines and hydraulic systems.
Standard operating specifications prevent failures from the source. Overload operation and prolonged continuous running are strictly prohibited during work. The working depth and traveling speed shall be adjusted reasonably according to soil conditions and crop conditions to prevent blade bending and body damage caused by collision with hard objects. After working in paddy fields and humid environments, wipe off water stains and complete anti-rust treatment to avoid corrosion and aging of metal components and ensure intact equipment structure.
Implement seasonal storage and periodic inspection. Before idle storage in off-seasons, thoroughly clean the whole machine, drain accumulated water, maintain oil and circuit systems, and store the equipment in dry and ventilated places with proper covering to prevent aging caused by sun exposure and rain erosion. Establish weekly and monthly inspection mechanisms to eliminate hidden risks including circuit aging, seal leakage and component wear. Scientific daily maintenance and predictive upkeep greatly improve the stability of agricultural machinery, reduce repair costs and guarantee stable operation all year round.
